The story of Darrell Slim & the K-Hooch (also referred to simply as DSKH) is as exiting as it is chaotic. It has been a tumultuous experience for all members involved in the project over the years. Since the very beginning in the summer of 2000 DSKH delivered an array of hectic and anarchistic live shows. Often heavily under the influence of a mixture of black coffee and schnaps (a drink known as "Jazz Petrol") the shows would regularly end with loss of bodily functions, broken bottles on stage and a general lack of decent behaviour as whips and phallic looking vegetables were brought on stage. Among other things this resulted in a ban from ever performing again in the danish town of Ribe following a Jazz Festival gig gone wrong. The original lineup of DSKH consisted of Darrell Slim, Fantasmo McAllen, Dr. Diggens and Johnny Vacuum. This constellation of DSKH recorded an untitled demo cd and subsequently released a full length lp in 2005 entitled Dar Rellsli m&t Hekho Och. In 2007 Tom Scumfinger replaced Vacuum as drummer and can be heard on one track of the It's Getting Colder/Ambush From The Rear ep which was released on 10" vinyl in 2007 (an ep which also features Johnny Vacuum on several tracks). In 2008 demographic differences led to the exit of Tom Scumfinger and DSKH continued to play as a trio for a while. Another drummer who made a brief visit to the group was Pistol Pete. His time within the band was brief though, and he only played one gig with DSKH before his departure. Once again the band was reduced to a trio and remained like this only for a short while before the demand for a drummer led the group to arrange auditions to find the next member of DSKH. The auditions resulted in the addition of Steady Eddie behind the drums. Steady Eddie's energetic style of playing resulted in a slight change in the band's sound which shifted towards a more rock-like expression. Eddie recorded four tracks with the band before he parted ways with the group...none of these have yet been released. After a long break in DSKH's activities, due to the member's involvement in other projects, the original lineup once again teamed up to play one reunion show in the summer of 2011.
