This is the first full-lenght studio album from Darrell Slim & the K-Hooch, and it marks the culmination of nearly a year and a half spent in the recording studio.
Before embarking on the recording process the band has mainly existed as a live act, diving into such diverse genres as free-jazz, rock n’ rool and high-pitched 80’s dance music, and this is indeed audible on the album, as each song finds its own little niche to feed from. Thus the listener will be in for a ride through a small universe of styles and sounds, and as the last song gently fades out to sound of cars, we ensure you that you want to take the journey once again.
The outspokenly analog sound of this album will almost take you back in time, but only to pull you straight back again to a place where retro meets the modern. It is fair to say that Darrell Slim (vo, gtr, etc.), Fantasmo McAllen (gtr, org, etc.), Dr. Diggens (bs) and Johnny Vacuum (dr) have created a distinct sound of their own, which is hardly comparable to anything else around.
All in all this is a fresh and interesting album, in a genre best described as avantgarde western-rock………Got Slim?
This record is sold out at the moment... Sorry!
